SPIS Toolbox Mobile Application Privacy Policy

1.      Introduction:

The Toolbox on Solar Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) is designed to enable advisors, service providers and practitioners in the field of solar irrigation to provide broad hands-on guidance to end-users, policymakers and financiers. Risks related to system efficiency, financial viability and the unsustainable use of water resources can thus be minimized. The Toolbox comprises informative modules supplemented with user-friendly software tools (calculations sheets, checklists, guidelines).

The Toolbox on Solar Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) is a legacy project of the global initiative Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development (PAEGC). In 2012, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Duke Energy, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) combined resources to support new and sustainable approaches to accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy solutions for increasing agriculture productivity.

The Toolbox on SPIS has now been embraced for further development by PAEGC's successor program Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) and Sun4Water. WE4F is a joint international initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Union (EU), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). WE4F aims to increase food production along the value chain through a more sustainable and efficient usage of water and/or energy. Sun4Water is a global program financed by the German Climate and Technology Initiative (DKTI) through the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and contributes to the joint international initiative Water and Energy for Food (WE4F). Sun4Water provides tailor-made capacity development methods which empower farmers, technical service/technology providers, financial service providers, and sensitize policy actors to the benefits of SPIS.

This privacy policy applies only to the actions of Sun4Water and Users with respect to The SPIS Toolbox mobile application. It does not extend to any applications that can be accessed from this mobile application.

 

We are committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("the App").

       I.          Information we do not collect:

• No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect any personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifiers.
• No Usage Data Collection: The App does not track or record any usage data, such as your interactions with the App, session durations, or features used.
• No Location Data: We do not access or collect any location data from your device.
• No Device Information: We do not collect any information about your device, including device identifiers, IP addresses, or operating system details.

      II.          Local Storage of Calculations

• Local Data Only: All data generated by the App, such as calculations and settings, is stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to any external servers, third parties, or the internet.
• User-Controlled Data: You have full control over the data stored on your device. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the App or using your device's file management system.

    III.          Third-Party Services

• No Third-Party Integrations: SPIS Toolbox does not use any third-party services, analytics providers, or advertising networks that collect or process your data.

    IV.          Security

• Local Security: While we do not collect or transmit any data, we recommend that you use your device’s security features, such as encryption and password protection, to secure the data stored locally by the App.
• No Data Transmission: Since the App does not transmit data, there are no external risks related to data interception or unauthorized access during transmission.

     V.           Children's Privacy

• No Data Collection: The App is designed for users of all ages, including children. However, since we do not collect any data, we do not require any parental consent or provide any additional measures for children's privacy.

    VI.          Changes to This Privacy Policy

• Policy Updates: We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page, and we encourage you to review this policy periodically.
• Notification of Changes: If we make significant changes to this policy, we may notify you through the App or via email if you have provided an email address (for non-privacy-related inquiries).
